この春、世界中からアーティストが集結！

 

この春、世界中の国々から、原泉に様々なジャンルのアーティストが集結します！

アーティストたちは、豊かな自然環境の中で、4週間の日々を自身と向き合いながら制作活動に臨みます。
4/1-28に滞在の３カ国のアーティストたちは、この地で何を見、体験し、制作に打ち込んで来たのでしょうか。作品として表現されるものは一体どんなものなのか、国籍もバックグラウンドも全く異なるアーティストたちの思考を垣間見ることができるのが、この成果発表展です。

アーティスト情報

 

コン・チーシン/ Kung Chi Shing (香港、中国🇭🇰🇨🇳)

 

コン・チーシンは香港を拠点とする作曲家、パフォーマー、そして音楽キュレーターである。アメリカでクラシック音楽と作曲を学び、1987年にピーター・スチュアートとともに結成した音楽・パフォーマンスグループ「The Box」での活動によって知られている。このグループは、前衛的な音楽劇のまったく新しいスタイルを創出し、香港の実験芸術シーンに大きな影響を与えた。
コン自身の作品には映画音楽や、作家ヴァレリー・C・ドランと構想および共同演出を手がけた6本の長編マルチメディア音楽劇が含まれる。彼の作品は、オリジナル音楽のコンサートにパフォーマンスアート、コンテンポラリーダンス、さらに映像、キネティック彫刻、インスタレーションアートといった新しいマルチメディア表現を組み合わせたものである。
これまでに視覚芸術家、振付家、演劇人と頻繁にコラボレーションを行い、香港、中国、台湾、日本、キューバ、タシケント、ニューヨーク、シドニー、ロンドン、ベルリン、ヴェネツィアなどで自身の音楽を上演してきた。2015年から2024年までは、香港でこれまでにない規模の文化プロジェクトである西九龍文化地区の音楽ディレクターを務めた。2020年には作曲家の坂本龍一と「stealing time」を共同制作し、コロナ禍への音楽的応答を試みた。現在は香港で「Coda」というジャズ喫茶を運営している。

 

Kung Chi Shing is a composer, performer and music curator in Hong Kong. He studied classical music and composition in the United States and is known for his work in the music and performance group ‘The Box’, which he founded with Peter Suart in 1987, creating an entirely new style of avant-garde music-theatre that became a major influence on the Hong Kong experimental arts scene. Kung’s own productions include film scores and six full-length multi-media music theatre productions, which he conceived and co-directed with the writer Valerie C. Doran. His productions combine original music concerts with performance art, contemporary dance and new multi-media works including film, kinetic sculpture and installation art. He has collaborated frequently with visual artists, choreographers, and theatre artists, and has performed his music in Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, Japan, Cuba, Tashkent, New York, Sydney, London, Berlin and Venice. Between 2015 to 2024 he was the music director of the West Kowloon Cultural District, the most ambitious cultural project in Hong Kong to date. In 2020, Kung collaborated with composer Ryuichi Sakamoto on ‘stealing time’, a musical response to the covid pandemic. Currently he is running a jazz kissa called Coda in Hong Kong.

私は、ある瞬間にとどまるための手段としてドローイングをしています。私の作品は、明確な計画なしに始まることが多く、感覚やリズム、あるいは静かな観察から出発します。

私は、ありふれた空間――部屋やテーブル、窓、そしてゆっくりと流れる時間――に興味があります。そこは特別なことが何も起こらない場所ですが、何か穏やかなものが感じられます。

私にとってドローイングとは、ひとつのイメージを完成させることではなく、それとともに「今ここに在る」ことです。レジデンス期間中も、このようなゆっくりとした方法で制作を続け、環境や光、そしてそこで与えられる時間に応答していきたいと考えています。

 

 

I draw as a way of staying with a moment. My work often begins without a clear plan. I start from a feeling, a rhythm, or a quiet observation.

I am interested in ordinary spaces—rooms, tables, windows, time passing slowly—places where nothing special happens, but something gentle can be felt.

Drawing, for me, is not about finishing an image, but about being present with it. During the residency, I would like to continue working in this slow manner, responding to the environment, the light, and the time I am given there.

私の実践は、ストーリーテリングと視覚的翻訳への共通の関心を軸に、写真とデザインのあいだを行き来しています。商業デザイナーでありフィルムフォトグラファーでもある私は、束の間の日常の瞬間であれ、より意図的に構成されたビジュアルであれ、イメージがどのように物語を宿しうるのかに関心を持っています。
写真作品では、さりげなく見過ごされがちなものに惹かれます。身振りや質感、そしてフレームの外側に何かが続いていることをほのめかすような空気感。そうした観察は自然とデザインの仕事にも引き継がれ、コミュニケーションを単なる問題解決としてではなく、感情やつながりを生み出す手段として捉えています。
商業デザインの背景を持つ私は、ブランドシステムや戦略的目標といった既存の枠組みの中で仕事をすることが多くあります。しかし、それらを制約としてではなく、探求や実験の出発点として活用しています。スキャンした素材や手描きの痕跡、わずかな不完全さといった触覚的な要素を取り入れることで、デジタル空間に温かみと人間らしさをもたらすことを大切にしています。
写真とデザインの双方において、私は意図と直感のバランスに関心があります。作品は明晰でありながら、同時に個人的な感覚を伴うものであってほしい。このレジデンシー期間中は、ペースを落とし、周囲の環境に応答しながら、場所・素材・記憶とのより深いつながりを反映した作品を制作することを楽しみにしています。

 

My practice moves between photography and design, rooted in a shared interest in storytelling and visual translation. As both a commercial designer and film photographer, I’m interested in how images can hold narrative, whether through fleeting everyday moments or more intentional visual compositions.
In my photographic work, I’m drawn to the subtle and often overlooked: gestures, textures, and atmospheres that suggest something just beyond the frame. These observations naturally carry into my design work, where I approach communication not only as problem-solving, but as a way to create feeling and connection.
My background in commercial design means I often work within existing structures like brand systems and strategic goals. Instead of seeing those as limitations, I use them as a starting point to explore and experiment. I like to introduce tactile elements such as scanned materials, hand-drawn marks, and subtle imperfections to bring warmth and a sense of humanity into digital spaces.
Across both photography and design, I’m interested in the balance between intention and instinct. I want the work to feel clear, but also personal. During this residency, I’m looking forward to slowing down, responding to my surroundings, and creating work that reflects a deeper connection to place, material, and memory.
